January 2026 Ministry Recap

| Dormitory Ministries in Cambodia |
As we step into a new year, our hearts are full of gratitude. There is no other way to say it. God has been kind to us in ways we did not expect and in moments we did not plan. We praise Him for the favor, the strength, and the grace He has poured out as we begin another year of serving Him here in Cambodia.
This past month reminded us again that every single day is a gift. Waking up, serving, loving, teaching, parenting, cooking, praying, and persevering are all made possible only by God’s grace. There were moments when the road felt steady and moments when it felt uncertain, but in every step, God was present.
We want to thank you for standing with us. For praying for us. For reading our blogs and walking with us through this season of ministry and family life. Whether you are near or far, whether you have met us in person or only through words on a screen, your prayers matter more than you know.
This journey is not always easy, but it is always meaningful. We continue to see God moving, guiding, correcting, and encouraging us every step of the way. And when we feel weak or unsure, we are reminded of this truth from Scripture.
Running to the Strong Tower
“The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
Proverbs 18:10
This verse has become a quiet anchor for us.
God’s name tells us who He is. He is God alone. God’s name reveals His character. Scripture reminds us again and again that He is faithful, merciful, loving, patient, and strong. His presence is not a place of fear but a place of protection. When we run to Him, we do not run to uncertainty. We run to safety. God’s name also tells us what He does. He rescues. He saves. He provides. He defends the weak. He sees the unseen. He meets needs in ways that often surprise us.
As you read these updates, we invite you to pause and thank God with us. Think about who He has been in your life. Strong. Faithful. Patient. Kind. A refuge in hard seasons.
Below are some Praise Reports from January and what God has been teaching us through them:
1. Faith Project Update 👈 🙏😍
The Faith Project grew alongside our small Divine Pasta shop. It became a way for us to offer homemade food with a purpose. Simple treats made at home, shared with others, and used to support ministry work here in Cambodia. Each order became more than food. It became part of God’s provision.
As we entered 2026, we did so with grateful hearts. New beginnings bring fresh hope, but they also bring real challenges. Ministry continues to grow, and so do the needs.
Our biggest needs remain the same.
Monthly rent for both dormitories and our worship space.
Support for our son David’s tuition and daily needs as a family.
Dormitory ministry continues to change lives. Students are not only given a place to stay, but a place to be discipled, encouraged, and guided in their faith. These spaces matter deeply.
Through the years, God has never failed to provide. But like many ministry families, we are learning the importance of building something sustainable. A local source of income that helps support the work long term and allows us to serve with stability.
2. Staying Connected with God 💓 This reflection came from a simple but honest question. How do we stay connected with God in the middle of busy days, responsibilities, and emotional weight?Connection with God is not about doing everything perfectly. It is about returning to Him again and again. Running to Him when we feel tired. Talking to Him when words feel few. Sitting quietly when our hearts feel full. This reminder has been especially meaningful for us as missionaries. Ministry can sometimes make us feel busy for God but distant from Him. This season has called us back to simple devotion. Prayer. Scripture. Stillness. Trust. God remains our safe place.
3. Parenting a Teenager on the Spectrum 👦
Parenting David as he grows into his teenage years has been one of our greatest joys and one of our greatest stretching places. Autism brings unique challenges, unseen struggles, and small victories that often go unnoticed. There are days filled with patience and days filled with questions. But in every season, God has been faithful. God is not only a refuge for ministry needs. He is a refuge for tired parents. For worried hearts. For moments when we do not know what the next step should be.
God’s protection does not remove every challenge, but it gives us peace within them. We continue to trust Him with David’s growth, faith, and future.
4. Taking Up the Cross Today 🙏
Following Jesus is not always dramatic. Often, it is quiet obedience. Choosing faithfulness in ordinary days. Saying yes when it would be easier to say no. Trusting God when answers are not immediate.
This reflection reminded us that taking up our cross is not about comfort. It is about surrender. And surrender leads us back to the strong tower. When we release control, we find safety in God’s care. When we lay down our plans, we discover His faithfulness.
5. Reflections on Humility and Wisdom 💕
Humility and wisdom go hand in hand. This season has been a reminder to listen more, pray more, and trust God’s timing. The humble know where to run. They do not rely on their own strength. Proverbs 18:10 shows us that wisdom begins with knowing our need for God.
In ministry, humility protects our hearts. It keeps us teachable and dependent on the Lord.
6. Where Our Treasure Is 💖
This reflection invited us to look honestly at our hearts. What do we value most. Where do we invest our time, energy, and resources. True security is not found in what we hold, but in who holds us. God is our greatest treasure. And when He is, our hearts can rest.
A Simple Invitation
Over the years, this blog has become a small space where we share faith, family, ministry, culture, and everyday moments of grace. Some are joyful. Some are hard. All are real.
Here you will find reflections on Scripture, stories from life in Cambodia, glimpses of dorm ministry, family life, parenting autism, and honest prayers for everyday faith.
Our hope is simple. To encourage hearts. To point people to God. To share His faithfulness in ordinary days.
As we move forward, we plan to continue sharing through our monthly newsletter and weekly blog posts. We may also offer simple digital resources in the future to help sustain this work and expand ministry here in Cambodia.
