Pay it Forward and Onward!

My mission to Cambodia 🇰🇭 newsletter 2007 A few days ago, Pastora Lanie Caisip (lay pastor in Bologna, Italy) forwarded this picture to me.  I felt ecstatic about it! this has been more than a decade. I think it was apart from my newsletter a few months before I flew to Cambodia for my mission journey.  I was soliciting for prayers then (1-minute prayer shield!). Lanie said she kept it for a long time - that was a sweet and unexpected gesture to beat. Honestly, I have not even kept any of those letters anymore. It just warms my heart to the bits.  Pastora Lanie has not forgotten our deep connection way back. She was studying in the Bible school back then - I knew for sure God has been putting passion in my heart to help her out. So even with my tiny earnings, I have pledged to save some to send her small support (actually it didn't have to be money but mostly prayers, food/snacks, other supplies). I didn't think it was even a burden but a love for the people that God wi...

January 2026 Ministry Recap

Dormitory Ministries in Cambodia What a beautiful way to wrap up January 2026. As we step into a new year, our hearts are full of gratitude. There is no other way to say it. God has been kind to us in ways we did not expect and in moments we did not plan. We praise Him for the favor, the strength, and the grace He has poured out as we begin another year of serving Him here in Cambodia. This past month reminded us again that every single day is a gift. Waking up, serving, loving, teaching, parenting, cooking, praying, and persevering are all made possible only by God’s grace. There were moments when the road felt steady and moments when it felt uncertain, but in every step, God was present. We want to thank you for standing with us. For praying for us. For reading our blogs and walking with us through this season of ministry and family life. Whether you are near or far, whether you have met us in person or only through words on a screen, your prayers matter more than you know. This jour...

Worship Retreat and Baptism Weekend

Image
This month of November is extra special for us at PPC. Our hearts remain full of gratitude and joy as we reflect on God's amazing work during those two days of fellowship, worship, and commitment. Our retreat marked a special milestone for Phnom Penh Church (PPC). Held at the serene and picturesque coastline of Sihanoukville, it was more than just a getaway—it was a sacred opportunity to strengthen our bond as a church family, renew our commitment to the Lord, and celebrate life-changing decisions through water baptism. But before we dive into the highlights, let me first apologize for my absence on social media recently. Life got busy with looming work deadlines, and I also went through a season of illness that left me drained. Yet, in those challenging weeks, I was reminded of God’s promise of healing and restoration. Praise God for better health now, and I pray for His continuous strength and recovery as I resume sharing the goodness of His work in and through our lives. A Trib...

February 2026 Ministry recap

Dorm Ministry & PPC Updates This month has been full. Full of hope. Full of service. Full of joy. But also full of concern. I wanted to write this newsletter with only good updates. I wanted to simply share victories in ministry, growth in our dorm, and answered prayers in our small business. But life does not always come in neat and clean reports. Sometimes we serve God while carrying a burden quietly in our hearts. And I believe many of you understand that. When the Body Feels Weak but the Spirit Must Stay Strong For the past weeks, my husband Vandy has been experiencing recurring abdominal pain. It is not new. Two years ago he underwent colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures because the pain became too much to ignore. We were afraid then. We did not know what the doctors would find. By God’s grace, the results came back negative. No serious findings. We were relieved. Vandy is the healthiest person in our family. He eats carefully. He exercises daily. Since the pandemic, we have ...

August 2025 Ministry Recap

Image
This month of August, our hearts are full of gratitude as we look back on God’s goodness in our family and ministry. It has been a month of celebrating life , walking through new seasons as parents, and pressing forward in the mission field here in Phnom Penh. Each story and reflection reminds us of God’s faithfulness and of our need to continually depend on Him in prayer. 🎂 Celebrating Life & Birthdays We began the month by celebrating birthdays in our family, including a simple but meaningful day for Papa Rolly . Birthdays for us are more than cake and gatherings they are reminders that every added year is a gift from the Lord. In our post “Our Simple Birthdays” and “Happy Birthday Papa Rolly!” , we reflected on how we want each year of life to be lived intentionally: to give more, serve more, and accomplish God’s purposes for His glory. Our prayer is to finish strong , knowing that each added day is a chance to shine for Christ.  Khmer Chess Match (Pich and David) 🍞 Fa...

How Dormitory Ministries Are Changing Lives in Cambodia?

A Safe Haven:  The BAC II Khmer National Exam is a significant milestone for every 12th grader in Cambodia. It is the gateway to higher education, determining whether a student can pursue a university degree. For many, passing this exam is just the beginning of an even greater challenge—finding the means to study in the city. The Challenges of Higher Education in Cambodia Higher education opportunities in Cambodia’s provinces are limited, pushing many students to migrate to Phnom Penh, the capital, where better universities and job prospects await. However, life in the city is tough, especially for students from rural areas. The cost of tuition, housing, food, and transportation can be overwhelming, even with scholarships. More than financial struggles, there are dangers as well. Many young students, especially girls, are vulnerable to human trafficking , prostitution, and other crimes. Because of these risks, many parents are hesitant to send their children to Phnom Penh. However...
