Psalm 42:11
"Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God."
The verse today is somewhat speaking to my heart ❤️
Just last night, when David and I were walking/exercising around our neighborhood.
Our wonderful conversation was a revelation.
**Background: he has already told another story over dinner and obviously shared a different version π
π
David: “Mom, it was actually me started first to get angry with Porchung (classmate) because he cut my line during our lunch, I pushed him, and he cried I got angry at him.
I’m just being honest mom please don’t get mad at me π₯Ί what will I do now?
Mom: “I am not mad at you David but I actually appreciate that you are honest for telling the truth. I think you might already know what to do next ππ do you remember last time dad said? We have to always respond with love even though people around us are mean and unloving?”
David: "yeah but it’s really hard and I can’t control my anger mom"
Mom: "Ok how about we practice again? when we feel that we are going to be mad at someone, here’s what we need to do:
1. Don’t respond yet
2. Go to a corner be alone first
3. Start to inhale & exhale (5x)
4. Talk to God in your mind (be honest with what you feel inside: complaints/anger/offended)
5. Go back once ready.
6. Ask forgiveness if your heart is ready
The verse today reminds me of my own battles too. Because many times I also lament and don’t know what/how to respond whenever I start to get mad or even emotional. One thing for sure I’m too weak to control it that’s why I need God to help me. π
It's the truth!
These are some of those moments that I actually treasure a lot with our son even though honestly there are also times that I don’t even know how to respond.
But God would always have a way. It's all by His grace that I would be led on what to do.
