Quiet time
Quiet time is an important discipline at home. I know it's challenging sometimes with a growing and active boy like David. But we need to show him how we do it and be consistent with it. It's good that he would copy us most of the time.
Even before Vandy and I met each other, having an alone time with God has always been our habit. God has proven much of his answers through our solitude with Him.
This discipline has kept us stronger when we come together (in our marriage and raising our son). We have a lot to surrender to God. I love how God would give clarity when we reflect on His word as He leads us to a deeper understanding even to those hard to comprehend situations - He would give us peace!

Quiet time: Reading the scripture together |
In Psalm 42, the writer feels like a thirsty deer searching for water. Just as the deer craves a stream to drink from, the writer longs for God. Even though life is tough and tiring, the main thing the writer wants is to be close to God. It's okay to have dreams and plans, but the most important thing is to desire a relationship with God. True happiness comes from being close to Him.
All you need is the desire and commitment to spend time with God. You can do this by reading His word, talking to Him in prayer, or thinking about how faithful He is. As you get closer to Him, He is eager to be close to you too and refresh your spirit.
Spending time with God is essential for our souls, and it has the power to transform our lives at their core. Make it a habit to be with Him daily and plan ways to seek Him consistently.
