Doers of the WORD

Sousdey Chanam Thmey (Happy New Year!)
How's your 2024 so far? I am grateful and hopeful.
The best is yet to come 💕 Let's claim it!
This verse in James 1:22-23 is definitely a good reminder for me to go back to the basics this year - pointing me to the word of God 😉

Here at home, my husband is basically the one who's putting bible goal reading into a commitment.
It's always encouraging to see him intentionally hold his bible or listen to his audio bible when he's doing chores or exercising.
It is not only because he is a pastor and need to prepare sermons, but showing how he is really prioritizing that discipline is really impacting us a lot. My husband won't tell us to emulate what he is doing but his actions somehow influence us to do the same. Vandy is a man of few words - in fact he is a quiet type of a guy but he is definitely a doer person! I could see it on the ways he thinks, he processes, makes decisions, even the way he talks to people, helps anybody in need (like fixing clogged toilets, sinks to our friends, help changing tires for strangers etc..)

Why Be a DOER of the word?
The word of God is active and living. Praise God for His ever-reliable truths.
We could claim clarity and miracles by His grace everyday through his very words.
If I would like to know who God is, then I should spend much time to know Him through reading his words.
Inasmuch as reading the word is important, it is definitely essential that we put application into action. The scripture is not only books of history and letters but it is actually inspired by God. This is where the Holy Spirit speak life to us - this is how bible is distinct from any self help books that we love reading.
There is power in God's word that's why it should not come by hearing only, but by living it out evidently into our lives.
God's words have brought tremendous changes in my own life- it has brought a lot of pruning, breakthrough, correction and guidance to me.
I am still a work in progress I believe.

How has the word of God changing you?
