Vacation Bible School in Cambodia

We love VBS 😅😍

David looks forward to joining every summer break! He loves the fact that he will meet new friends and be reunited with his old friends. He is definitely much excited to see Sophear, Chamnab, Chamkar and aunt Jewel everyday for a week! I'm glad I was able to get to see them on the 2nd day (holiday!) before they fly back to America for their furlough. I heard the children will have an extended get together this lunch time after today's session.. I wish to join them 😢

I accepted Christ as my Savior!

I also used to join VBS when I was younger. Our church would host it in the Philippines. It's a must for us compassion sponsored children (Compassion Philippines) to attend VBS.

My siblings (Jr & Ruth) and I would walk to church in the mornings carrying our snacks and bible for 30minutes! those were fond memories with them, because sometimes we would sing, fight, play during those walks - we would even have lots of stops and be curious on hills, buy ice scrambles, rocks, or whatever that got our attention with 👌😅😁😝😜 I miss those times!

I came to know and accepted Jesus as my Saviour through VBS one summer (I was 8years old- although I know I would always pray every single year just to make sure I will go to heaven 😅).

Passion for Missions 💗

Aside from learning bible stories and memorizing bible verses, I got to know stories about Missions - that struck me a lot! I knew from a very young age; I would like to be a missionary someday.

I did recognize God's spoken words to me. He called me to witness and share His gospel to the ends of the world. Of course, back then it didn't make any sense yet. But I knew I would always have that desire to make myself be involved on mission works as a mobilizer:

😍 Welcomed visiting Missionaries at church - intently listening to their stories in the mission field

😅 Praying for missionaries every week

☝ Aside from my tithes, I started giving to missions sacrificially

😃 Sending letters and cards to missionaries I know (snail mail!)

😌 Served and volunteered on mission conferences

👍 Joined Tribal mission works (Agay Tribes in Cagayan and Matigsalog tribes in Davao)

😇 Signed up for one year Mission Training Program @ Asian Center for Missions

💪 Took a TESOL program (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

💗 Eventually commissioned to be missionary to Cambodia  💓😅

There's no doubt God used VBS to ignite my passion for mission. He gave me a glimpse of what I could do for His mission in my life and to the mission field here in Cambodia for His harvest. I praise God for leading me this far. There were many ups and downs journey. Necessary pruning's here and there and God's transformation from the inside out on me first.  How could I even comprehend what He has instore for me. It was a roller coaster journey before I even got here.  I am glad those challenges had to happen. It is God's plan indeed! I had a separate post about how God has reaffirmed and reconfirmed my mission calling on this post 👉 Fasting

Now it's my son's VBS season. I am excited on how God would be working on his life as well!
