Kunthy's Spiritual birthday 🎂

Household of faith 😍🙏
We made the decision to welcome my sister-in-law Kunthy and her teenage son Pich to live with us here in the city (Phnom Penh) a year ago.
We have been praying for Vandy's entire family to accept Christ as their Savior for many years now and we also realize that this might be our chance.
Perhaps living with us would mean a great opportunity to share the gospel to them.

We praise God for the wonderful progress these past few months.
As a family, we made a conscious effort to show my sister in-law and Pich how much we care for them. not just in words, but above all in deeds. Dad, David and I prayed each night (before we go to bed) that they will soon come to truly accept Christ as Lord and that the things we do at home (prayer before meals, bible study, bible reading, attending worship at church) will become a way of life for them so that they can enjoy and encounter Christ.
We hope to show them that we have a spiritual father and a God who can defend us.

Kunthy 💗
Kunthy is a dedicated single mother. She must have felt the strain of raising her son all by herself while taking care of other matters at home. She has experienced a lot of physical and mental breakdowns for some time, and obviously we had to step in. My sister in-law greatly leans on and trusts her older brother Vandy. By God's grace, my husband was the one who sent her to school when she was younger and continued until she completed college. We believe that she has a lot of potential and talent that need to develop. Kunthy used to work as a bank manager for a provincial bank in Kampong Cham. She enjoys cooking so much and finds great satisfaction in the kitchen! She picks things up quickly and works tirelessly, much like a human machine 😅😜 in fact, she has already mastered "mang inasal" (famous chicken bbq in the Philippines) and the chicharon (pork grind).

For a time, she felt her life is a failure. She failed in her marriage, failing as a daughter, as a mom, making wrong decisions, even on her failed business. These issues were growing until she started to learn about God through our regular bible studies and seeing/experiencing how we deal/face these difficulties at home.
Kunthy also has a lot of questions about faith every day, she's appreciated that Vandy would help her navigate them together. I admire how my husband shows patience, gentleness, and being overbearing towards us.
I'm glad I listened to my husband that "action speaks louder than words" - he would remind us to be mindful of our actions and making sure that our responses would reflect Christ.
These encounters were seen by Kunthy and have greatly become one of the valid reasons for her to put trust in Jesus.

Last Sunday while I prepare breakfast, I saw Kunthy approached Vandy and requested for a serious talk in the study/living room. That moment took an hour and suddenly my husband called me to come and shared to me that our dear sister decided to pray a sinner's prayer and accept Christ in her heart. Flowing tears of joy immensely filled us! we kissed and hugged after her prayer 💕💝😍 and got ready for church.

We didn't expect that she will share her testimony at PPC. It just happened that she would love to share how God has filled her with joy! We pray that Kunthy will start her faith journey with continuous zealousness in her heart. She also desires that her teenage son Pich would also be receptive to sincerely accept Christ someday.
**I had written a post about my son's longingness to have a brother David's big brother Pich 👈
There is simply something spiritual about seeing something that brings such great delight.
Kunthy, Vandy's youngest sister, became a personal follower of Christ today.
We are celebrating, which is why we have been crying and giving hugs all morning!
Though this is unheard of in Khmer culture, when Jesus is actually present, there is a profound transcending of love and peace!

I'm sharing with you our sister Kunthy's testimony 💕 (in Khmer kanguage)
God met our lovely sister in a wonderful way after five months of intentional Bible study at home 💕.
For many years, we have been praying for Vandy's family to come to know and accept Christ as their Saviour.

We are rejoicing it’s already happening 💕
One by one until the whole household will come to know Christ.

All glory to Him!
