Hearts Day in Cambodia 💓💞💝🙏

I SERVE you 💓💞💝🙏
We exercise lots of "Acts of service" at home from picking up books/toys, arranging shoes, to setting up the table, down to bringing drinking water from downstairs, emptying trash away and even to buying eggs from the neighborhood. Big and small means of service means a lot to us because they are ways to show humility and selfless love towards others. Giving importance to the person first before you entail above and beyond love if that make sense.
Is it always easy to serve?
Of course, it is NOT always comfortable to be selfless all the time - there were times we also struggle doing it I am not going to lie 👌😅 but what makes it encouraging to do so is because of love I believe.
Looking at Deuteronomy 6:5 today, it's a good reminder that at times it's hard to serve others, I should always look at how God has loved me and still pardoning me up to this day. He has shown and thought me how to love - it should be enough reason for me to extend this love to people around me right? no matter how challenging to love an unloving person. I was once that unloving person too! The verse is also a command that I have to keep in my heart all the time.

Valentines day in Cambodia
To be honest, celebrating V day in this country is actually highly discouraged.
This week alone, Christians were on a hot seat, because somebody from the Ministry of Women published an official announcement - condemning Vday celebration as exploitation for young Khmer women and it is against to their rich and conservative culture.
The announcement even put the Christian community on the wrong light mentioning that it is us who have started this wrong teaching on them.
It was definitely a chaos and grueling night for us believers to even comment on it.
My husband was particularly affected by this wrong accusation.
To be honest, we have always been cautious on this that's why as much as possible we are not doing any youth fellowship during this kind of event.
I believed we might have done two fellowships in the past for dorm people and friends - we used those events to invite unbelievers (for Evangelism) and to impart to them the real meaning of L-O-V-E.

We prayed about this issue last night and by God's grace - the announcement was rectified. The Ministry didn't give any apology to the Christian community but at least they took out that outrageous and strong accusation on us.

**I think there's a BIG misconception really.
Westerners have definitely introduced Vday in this country.. and who are mostly these foreigners? unfortunately, we were all generalized as one (believers or unbelievers).
When you say, sacrificial love - the interpretation is "If you love me, make love to me" 👎😓😔
