June 2025 Ministry Recap

This month has been a whirlwind of milestones, both in ministry and in family. But through it all, God remains our Anchor. Psalm 56:3–4 has once again become a favorite reminder for our family:

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?"

We memorized this as a family during the pandemic. Back then, it was a lifeline. Today, it’s still our anchor. Like David, who feared for his life when hunted by King Saul, we’re reminded that fear must drive us to prayer not panic. Our prayers are not anchored in feelings but in the unchanging character of God, made known through His Word.

So in storms, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, we don’t drift. We cling to the Rock that is higher than we are. God is our Lighthouse. Our Fortress. Our Guide. When Satan tempts us to doubt the love of God, we fight back with truth. As Pastor Peter Tan Chi once said, “Satan’s ploy is to make us doubt the love of God.” But we declare: God is bigger than our problems.

☀️ June Highlights & Recap

1. Living Out God’s Mission by Sharing the Gospel Quietly but Boldly

This month’s blog “Living Out God's Mission” focused on intentional Gospel living especially in spaces where direct evangelism is not allowed, like our school. I reflected on how important it is to be salt and light in our relationships, conversations, and daily witness. God opens doors through kindness, curiosity, and consistency. When was the last time you shared the Gospel with someone, not just in words but with your life?

2. Small Family Retreat in Kep & Kampot and Protecting Our Marriage

In our blog “How Do You Protect Your Marriage?”, I shared reflections from our simple family getaway to Kep and Kampot. The rest was needed, but more than that, it reminded us to guard our marriage intentionally. With distractions, responsibilities, and ministry demands, the enemy would love to divide. But we choose to invest in humility, prayer, communication, and joy.

3. PPC 12th Anniversary & Father’s Day Celebration

We marked a double celebration: Father’s Day and our church’s 12th year anniversary! In our blog “Happy Father's Day & PPC’s 12th Year”, I wrote about how spiritual fatherhood and biological fatherhood are both sacred roles. We honored godly men in our community, those who lead with love, model faith, and guide with grace. And we thanked God for His faithfulness to PPC (Phnom Penh Church) for over a decade of equipping and sending out disciples.

Happy 12th Anniversary PPC!

4. David Turned 12! and Prayers for Our Children

David’s birthday was another highlight! Our son turned 12 this June, and we celebrated with heartfelt gratitude for how far God has brought him, especially as a child on the autism spectrum. I wrote a short prayer journal “7 Scripture Prayers for Our Children on the Spectrum” to mark the occasion. These are promises we speak over David and for all children walking a unique path. God knows them deeply, and He equips parents with grace for the journey.

🙏🏼 Prayer Points for July

  1. New University Semester
Pray for divine strength, clarity, and wisdom as the semester begins. Pray that I may extend grace, patience, and understanding to my students, and be a quiet witness of Christ in a Buddhist-majority environment.

  2. Spiritual Boldness & Fruitfulness in Hidden Places
Pray for courage to continue living out the Gospel in settings where open sharing is not allowed. May our lives, actions, and words point others to Jesus.

  3. Family Devotions and Provisions
Pray that our home would remain a sanctuary of worship and prayer. That we may disciple our son David intentionally and lovingly, especially in his unique journey to middle school. Praying to be able to cope with his increased tuition fee by next month.

  4. Strength for the Church and Dorm Ministry
Pray for our church leadership and Dorm ministry to remain rooted in God’s Word, especially during transitions and personal challenges. May we serve with integrity, love, and humility.

As we step into July, may we continue to anchor our lives in the truth of God’s Word. Whether in the classroom, at home, by the sea, or in quiet corners of ministry, let’s be reminded that:

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105

In every storm, God is still our Lighthouse.

With love and prayers from Phnom Penh!
