Psalms 90:12   “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” To number our days! Let us enter the new year with clarity and a ready mindset. With a goal to honor God as we serve others for Him. To acknowledge His presence and to apply/claim God’s wisdom into our lives so we won’t grow weary this 2024.  It’s good to plan and sets goals, but make sure to seek God’s guidance and discern His will in us in every steps of the way.  Dad praying for healing for sis Christine (a missionary on a critical condition) and travel protection for sister Roath (as she & husband will fly back to the US tonight) sister Roath sharing her life testimony with sister Srey Roath (our former Ladies' dorm leader) with the pretty young wives at church (Somnang & Malen) sermon notes

Opportunity to do good

on a Tuktuk ride commuting to the university this morning 😅💪😎 Socsabai teh (how are you?) 🤩💕😅 I thought of you and all the women that are dear to me today 💕🙏 I’m glad to be able to meet you along the way thank you for always praying and thinking of us here in Cambodia 😜 I’m on a Tuktuk commuting to school right now and just reflecting on God’s goodness. I have been in Cambodia for almost 17 yrs and just realizing about on the subject of doing good and being kinder are definitely wonderful opportunity to show others that we care especially to those who haven’t known God yet 💕 I have experienced many times here in Cambodia- be it to my students, Tuktuk drivers, young moms even to my co lecturers- if I do something that will help them without asking in return or taking any credits- they would feel more valued. Sometimes it has even become a key 🔑 to be able for me to share the gospel because they would get curious- I know it would definitely take time for them to deeply kno...

Food to share!

Image
Enrollment week! Grateful to be able to share food to my colleague today.  It's going to be a grueling week before we grind for the new semester which will be starting in a few days. To show some love for this season, I decided to cook food and bring them to the university and share them to my co-worker at lunch. It's just a simple gesture I know but it could be a wonderful opportunity to share Christmas spirit with them. We only had a quick lunch break, and I know it would be perfect time so they don't need to worry and order food outside. My colleagues are the best! I have been working with most of them for more than a decade now. We might have different faith and beliefs but we respect and appreciate each other. Cambodian colleagues know that I believe in "Preah Yesu"/ Jesus, so Christmas is huge in the Philippines. And also, some co lecturers in the Academe are foreigners too - they do celebrate Christmas back home. Food brings us together, so I hope we will b...

Simple Christmas Lunch@home

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” ( Isaiah 9:6 ) Reflecting on the Christmas story Ever since I moved to Cambodia in 2007 I have never experienced Christmas Eve like we do elaborately in the Philippines. Although sometimes we would be invited for quieter Christmas dinners with missionaries here in Cambodia (which has become a new norm for us 😄) we get to enjoy much intimate fellowships with the believers as well. We don't get to stay until the midnight since most of us still need to go to our usual day jobs the next day. Personally, yes I still do miss the usual activities we do back home: caroling with cousins, church choir, family reunions, parties here and there, karaoke performances, parlor games, exchange gifts and the like haha 😂  Kidding aside, I enjoyed and missed those traditions back ho...

David's long break begins

Image
Today marks David's last day of school this year. He's so excited to celebrate Christmas party with classmates and teachers this noon. He was too eager to prepare his goodies to share with everyone. Lovingly made with love from home: chicharon+chocolate cringles+banana chocolate bread and store bought cranberry juice.  Mom brought him to school this morning via Tuktuk ride 😁😀😅 - a rare opportunity since mom has an off day today hurray! Mom's guilt feeling Yes I seldom bring/fetch my son to school, since I am also a working mom. I am grateful for a husband who would fill this part for me. Vandy also has many things to manage on his plate, but would always be around for the family. I know as a pastor, there were many times - he would not even have anymore time for himself because all his time is invested to everyone around him and to the ministry he is leading. Soooo today, I intentionally told him to take a day off from bringing our son to school. I want him to enjoy his ...
