Filipino community 💕

Image
Bayanihan Just recently, there was a family of Filipino Missionary who experienced a devastating fire. The have lost their homes, belongings, and sense of security, and definitely in need of support to help them heal and rebuild their lives. Thank God for a strong and solid Filipino community here in Cambodia. We're grateful to be able to extend our immediate help to them that even our David was able to participate. He gave out some of his loved clothes and shoes. Once we sorted the stuff, we washed and cleaned them well (so they can just use them right away). We continue to pray for their fast recovery (husband and wife were still at the ICU while six children are now under the care of a family friend in the field).  We must not become weary in our efforts to do good, as failure to persist will result in a lack of fruitful results. Galatians 6:9 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." * Bayanihan, a Fil...

Star of the Week

Image
We praise God for David's 2nd Star of the Week Award 😁😅💪😍 it's all by God's grace. He is now in 5th grade and we can't thank God enough for taking and blessing our son this far. He excels at school and loved by many. We know he still has some struggles in his social skills, but we are glad he is thriving. It's a blessing to be part of the community in his school. They know and recognize his condition (mild Autism), and we are thankful that he is treated equally, and they made sure he is not being bullied. We love how they hone our son's strength and capabilities and addresses his weakness mindfully. They make us always involve and update us on David's progress and target goals tailored for his level.  Yes honestly, they were moments we thought of moving or transferring David to other school which is more affordable and really within our means. It's been challenging to keep him there because the tuition fee is expensive. It is always by God's suff...

Bible studies resume

Image
Weeknights Bible studies at home 💕😊 Thank God for holidays! Now back to our regular programing. We are glad for a restful and adventured days.  Bible studies and discipleship sessions have resumed this week. Online discipleships with Sheryl and David our special guest During our discipleship, we shared and reflected about Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." It was such a wonderful time to spend time talking and praying with Sheryl (even joined by 😛Mr. David- he was also reading his bible quietly while mommy conducts discipleship) Oh how timing is this verse this week. During our praying time, verse 7 kept on resonating in me.  God kept on impressing that whenever we ask for the peace of mind and peace of heart - these promise and command are definit...

Khmer New Year 2024

Image
You guessed it right, Cambodia has it's own New Year celebration (aside from World's New year January 1st and Chines New Year). Choul Chnam Thmey, or Khmer New Year, is the most significant and beloved celebration in Cambodia. This colorful celebration, which takes place over three days in the middle of April every year, heralds the conclusion of the harvest season and the start of a fresh year full of promise and rebirth. Sharing with you our visit to a countryside - Kampot, where we went to Durian farm, enjoy the fresh breeze by the river and soaked in a shallow rapid near the Dam. It was just us trio. The heat didn't bother travellers to still enjoy the holidays. We usually go to Vandy's hometown during the holidays but since we have already spent time with them earlier, we decided to have another trip since it's just near the city. It's God's favor that we are able to experience these sceneries. God is indeed amazing!

Songkran 2024 Khmer New Year @ LimkokwingUniversity

Image
This is the time of the year where our students at the Foundation will showcase their talents and put to practice what they learned from the classroom this semester. What best way to do this is to host our annual Songkran event. It was a two-day event where students promoted Khmer community through folk dances, countryside narratives, traditional games while showcasing real-world business expo. I am so proud of what have they come out with.

Upset 😢

David is so hands on preparing for Sunday school - he's the one who arrange the chairs and tables and lay down the crafts. Sunday School prep: As you know over the weekend, David and I did some crafts to prepare for the Easter so kids could do something at church. Our David was so excited and really has planned to share about God. 👉 Saturday Solitude The next day Easter, however , there were not any kids joined the church and it made super David upset and cried. I saw how he struggled dealing with it. His repetitive words and tears kept on "I am sad and upset why didn't they come today?" Our comforting words didn't matter anything 😌😓 I thought he would do some meltdown during the worship singing. But thank God, he just stood there with us (and of course with pouting lips and continuous tears flowing). Normally, if our words would not matter to him, we would reprimand/ bring him to go somewhere else first to process that feeling and will have a good talking abou...
