Black Saturday Solitude

Image
We spent some solitude time today.  David and I made some activities for children's Sunday school for tomorrow's Easter service. This year we decided to paint eggs and made some bookmarks and cards.  Dad came and asked: Dad: Why eggs? what's the significance for the Resurrection Day? David: I painted this egg in black because it represents sins, this red is Jesus' blood because He died for us, our sins have washed away so we could go to heaven - the golden egg! Jesus is alive 👍👌☝👊💓 Mom: well, David says it all - we are ready to share tomorrow 😃💓  Video call with lola Tessie mom's craft

Good Friday

Image
It’s Good Friday  I am moved from these reflections. When Jesus died in my place, I experienced His grace. Jesus endured such an excruciating pain for my eternal gain.  Approaching the throne of God with confidence Coming to Him even though we are unworthy.  Jesus connects us to God.  This very day of Friday- Jesus took all my shame and sins.  It’s because of His mercy and grace, so I could be welcomed to the eternity once I bid my last breath here on earth. Seven Last Words by Pastor Peter (CCF) Prayer: Dear Lord, Please show me the way to confidently approach You.  Even though I am aware of your affection and concern for me, there are moments when I question my deservingness.  Please would you take away whatever uncertainty I may have by boldly stating that you want to hear from me and that I am yours.  I'm here, please help me and forgive my disbelief. Transform me from the inside out Lord. In Jesus name, Amen

Maundy Thursday: Let me SERVE YOU! 💕🙏

Image
Today is Maundy Thursday.  I actually just learned, maundy came from a Latin word "mandatum" which means commandment in English. Maundy Thursday is named after Jesus' commandment to love one another, emphasizes humility and service by r emembering Jesus washing his disciples' feet . Jesus is actually commanding us to serve others like He did when he washed the disciples' feet.  He exemplifies to have that servant hood attitude.  Though He was regarded as a teacher and God, he didn’t hesitate to serve them.  He came to the world to serve not to be served.  Then if that is His purpose- we should therefore imitate what He did.  on my Tuktuk ride this morning Prayer: Lord, please teach me to love others the way that You have loved me.  Humble me when I am being self-centered.  Make me want to help everyone I come across.  Change my heart so that I can be humble toward everyone. In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.

Easter Worship 🙏💕❤️✝️

Image
This coming Sunday would be an extra special worship celebration.  It's Easter once again! Vandy will be preaching.  We hope and pray to invite and gather newcomers, so they would be able to hear the good news of Jesus' reason of resurrection from the dead.  **It has always been a tradition to serve Khmer Curry whenever we have important occasions/events like this.  **And because Khmer New Year is coming soon, the Youth (Men & Women dorms) will have a Songkran Fellowship right after lunch at the church too 😍💪😁😇

Passion Week 🙏📖💕

Image
What is Passion Week for me? In Cambodia obviously Khmers don’t recognize Passion Week as an important event, but for us believers we do. Infact it’s the core of our faith.  For me personally, it's even more significant than christmas. It’s my faith's foundation because I believe in Jesus- in His life, suffering and sacrifice and His resurrection. He is my only hope, and he is near with me today.  I am praying for a blessed reflective week for all of us. **I am actually following CCF (Christ Commission Fellowship) program/devotion for this year's Passion week. And here are some of my thoughts. The triumphal entry, celebrated on Palm Sunday, is a significant event in Jesus' earthly ministry, as mentioned in all four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John).  For as Christians the triumphal entry of Jesus fulfilled prophecy, recognized His role, and prepared for His death and resurrection. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing Jesus as the King He is, not just the des...

Riverside 🥰🇰🇭 & Slow Saturday

Sunsets at the Mekong River Ferry rides ⛴  We love ferrying at the Mekong River.  It’s always a wonderful treat from daddy!  It encourages David to read his Bible more 📖 since Dad promised him for a ferry ride every time, he would finish a book in the Bible and would try to share what did he remember and learn from it.  We are thankful 🥹 that we get to experience this, and the Mekong River is just accessible here in Phnom Penh and the ride is affordable ($1.25 per person only!). We sometimes bring our own food 🍱 🥰😂😅 beautiful scenery + food = perfect pairing indeed! It’s just one of our simple joys to watch the sunsets and feel the cool breeze together.  It’s definitely far from our house - it would take us at least an hour drive to come here and we normally come before the sunset 🌅 and the experience is always different- but I must say always enjoyable!  David looks forward to seeing the color of the water and check on fishing boats 🛶 waves at peo...

Pray , Care, Share

Image
Happy Friday 💕😅 It’s all by God’s grace we have survived the week.  We are actually busy at the university- students' research presentations then organizing an event called Songkran for Khmer new year back to back assignment for my MBA modules hehe 😜 can't wait for holidays 😭😅 just fighting! 😜🙏 my last class today.. hurray!gasping for some air before doing MBA write ups! Just finished one of my Communication Skills class (Research Presentations) The verse today reminds me of God’s command for us to tell and share the good news.  I know it’s quite challenging to do this- it’s too awkward to share my faith but take heart. We could ask Jesus for courage to do it just obey first and be ready if we would be given that opportunity that’s why it's important that we always tune into his words and pray to Him daily so we would have the power and that cultivated passion to share.  Some tips that my husband and I have learned before sharing the gospel would be: Pray - to ...

Culprit ☝️🙅‍♀️

David's Swimming goggles - which he will NOT be using for a while 😔😢  I admire how gentle my husband handled the situation on David’s school this week.  We have been praying to talk to the Head of the school about David’s asthma condition.  His difficulty in breathing has been prevalent whenever he joins swimming classes.  These past few weeks, we would send him excuse letters to show to the teacher, so he won’t participate swimming anymore but for some reasons, one of his swimming teachers would show not so good remarks (harsh wordings actually) about David and our son would be upset 😢 and be scared of him.  It is becoming a mental and emotional burden for David.  This time the concern is not about asthma anymore but on David’s well-being at school. The school knows he has mild autism. Our dear son does take things literally and he is definitely sensitive about the swimming situation. Every Wednesday he would mention about it over dinner - how he gets s...
