If you have been following my blog, you may already know that sometime last year, our family started what we now call our Faith Project. It is a small home-based business that grew alongside our existing Divine Pasta shop. It was never meant to be just about income. It was never about chasing growth or recognition. It was a step of obedience. A response to what God placed in our hands. And honestly, at the beginning, we did not even know where it would lead. Today’s devotion reminded me of something very simple but deeply true. God often works quietly. Not always in big announcements or dramatic moments, but in small steps of obedience, in daily faithfulness, and in seeds planted with prayer and trust. Dorm Ministry & PPC Updates This month has been full. Full of hope. Full of service. Full of joy. But also full of concern. I wanted to write this newsletter with only good updates. I wanted to simply share victories in ministry, growth in our dorm, and answered prayers in our small business. But life does not always come in neat and clean reports. When the Body Feels Weak but the Spirit Must Stay Strong For the past weeks, my husband Vandy has been experiencing recurring abdominal pain. It is not new. Two years ago he underwent colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures because the pain became too much to ignore. We were afraid then. We did not know what the doctors would find. It has been more than 15 years since our family first answered God’s call to serve in Phnom Penh.  Looking back, it’s amazing how time has passed and how much the Lord has done in and through this ministry. When we first came and moved to the city to serve in a Bible School , we had nothing but faith in our hearts and a deep desire to serve the Lord among the Khmer people. Eventually God lead us here, we didn’t know exactly what the journey would look like, but we trusted that God would lead the way. Today is a holiday in Cambodia. It is Peace Day . This is actually a new holiday created just last year in 2024. When it was announced, many of us welcomed it with hope. A day meant to remind us that peace matters. A day to pause and reflect on unity, healing, and safety for our nation. And yet, who would have thought that this year, a border dispute with Thailand would take place so close to this very day. It feels ironic. Peace Day arrives while bombs have shaken border communities. Families have been displaced. Homes have been damaged. Fear has quietly entered places where children once played freely. For many, peace suddenly feels fragile and uncertain. In moments like this, staying silent does not feel right. As a family, and as part of a faith community, we felt a strong pull to do something. While other parts of the world prepare for Passion Week , Cambodia prepares for Khmer New Year. It is one of the biggest holidays in the country. Families travel back to their provinces.
