David’s Christmas Performance at school

Image
It is the time of the year for David’s school to showcase students’ performances 🥰🤩😉  David was actually worried these past few days because he had been absent due to his sickness. He missed rehearsals. He only joined the practice yesterday.  We are so proud to watch him perform. Oh my! He does really have the moves haha 😂  We praise God that David could perform  5th Grade Christmas Performances   with bong Pich (cousin) DQ treat!

Christmas celebration @ PPC

Image
Our Christmas worship celebration will happen this coming Sunday.  We are actually thrilled and anticipating to meet new friends and families of our dorm people. It's been planned a few months ago to invite them. We have been praying they would come to know Jesus through this occassion. You see Cambodia is still relatively a buddhist country (93%).  Khmers still perceive Christmas is tradition only for "barang or borote" or foreigners. Although, they would now associate it with christians.  We hope and pray that this coming Sunday through the program we have prepared - Jesus' birth story will be communicated well to them and that they will be challenged to believe and accept God's hope of salvation. Highlights: - Youth performance (drama/skit) - Pastor Vandy will be preaching - Food: Khmer traditional curry and baguette (my sister in-law is cooking!) - Fellowships & games after the worship

David is healed!

David's breathing difficulty

Image
Nebulizing sessions 😌😞💪😢🙏 I actually just prayed a surrender prayer today 🙏  You see as a mom, I have got so many things running into my head that they become worries.  The moment I hopped in my Tuktuk (mode of transportation here in Cambodia) to go work,  I started feeling at ease, because this is my time with the Lord unhurriedly.  The 45 minutes commute to the university has set me to continue my "quiet time" in my prayers, and on listening to the audio Bible.  David's difficulty breathing! Last night, dad and I hardly ever slept. We were monitoring David's breathing. Our son would always have these episodes of difficulty breathing - this time we don't know if the culprit is from the asthma, allergies, or rolled into one. It's good enough he is not feverish! It's pitiful to see him not on his quirky mode - his chest is unusually rising up & down and that sound of wheezing sound is weary some.  All we know is that whenever he engages with to mu...

Dive into His words

Hello! 🥰😉  I’m rejoicing - Christ is in you and me!  The moment we confessed that Jesus is our Savior, we have the assurance of an eternal life in Heaven with Him (so it's really true there's forever!) 🥰😍  And not only that, He sent to us the Holy Spirit so we would always be connected to him.  It's heartwarming to know - Jesus desires to have a relationship with us.  He is our Emmanuel (God with us!) in every seasons of our lives He is there - now that is really comforting to know that we will never be alone.    Do you even wonder why do we make difficult decisions? In life, one way or another we do make choices. Simple things like: from the moment we wake up, what to wear, what to cook etc.. to major ones! (should I pursue this career path? will this new business venture worth it? should I tell him I got hurt?) Good news! the Spirit of God is with us.. this is one of the reasons why the Holy spirit is sent to us, so we could be guided and won't b...

Up Close: Who we are? After knowing a little bit of our small family, now I would like to share about God's work through our ministries here in Cambodia. I also would like to sincerely thank you for considerably covering us with your prayers and for always looking after us.  These means a lot. You are a channel of blessing! Background: When Vandy's teaching/leadership transition in the bible school has ended, it was clear to my husband that God is calling us to plant a church again - this time in the city. We just don't know where and when could we start. All we know we should be ready to obey.  As a young couple, we were also anticipating that our own family will grow and that we might have a baby eventually. God has been faithful. We know He is providing us financially through our work. I was offer a fulltime teaching job in a university while Vandy facilitated some translating jobs.  It was also that time KCC - Khmer Community Church/Kampuchea Christian Communit...

Hello friends and families 😍😁😉👪 We are introducing ourselves - we are Vandy, Tess & David - serving in Cambodia! We know it's been a while since Tess has blogged (more than ten years ago!).  Life happens and God has been amazingly faithful!  We have waited for God's prompting for us to blog again, and we believe this is His right timing. We would like to honor Him for this wonderful platform to be able to share His goodness and how He is blessing this country of Cambodia (kingdom of wonders as they say). As a family of three, we desire to serve God and be a channel of blessing to His people here in Cambodia.  We hope to be able to influence and be an impact to the body of Christ in this corner of the earth. And we are praying you would also desire to take part in our faith journey by mindfully include us in your prayers and considerably a vessel (partnership with us in sharing the Gospel) in whatever God would lead you for this cause.  Love, Vandy, Tess &...
